2008-2009 IT Services Benchmarking Reports

Since 1987, Specifics has been surveying and tracking the practices and performance of IT staffing and solutions firms. These reports give companies the opportunity to compare their results with other firms of similar size and mix of services. The metrics are reported and analyzed to show firms how internal practices have a direct impact on their performance. Detailed tables, charts, analysis, and projections are provided to help you plan and manage your business.

2009 Financial and Operating Metrics ($595)

Operating margins and sales, general, and administrative expenses (SG&A) are reported based on the size of companies and their mix of services. All numbers are reported based on their percentage of revenue, so it is easy to see how you measure up to the minimum, average, median, and maximum reported values. Are you spending similar amounts for sales compensation, recruiting, marketing, and more than 20 other expense areas as other firms spend in your respective group? What should you be spending as you move into a higher revenue category or pursue different types of business?

2008 Sales and Recruiter Compensation, Headcount, and Turnover ($595)

Sales and recruiter headcount and compensation planning is often one of the more difficult and confusing management activities. How many do I need and what do I pay for? Salaries, incentives, leverage, and quotas are all issues to consider. This report will tell you how staff is aligned and paid relative to similar positions in similar size companies offering a similar mix of services. Actual pay and ratios of headcount and salaries to revenue or incentives to margin are reported with a range of values, so it is easy to see how you measure up to the minimum, average, median, and maximum reported values. How should your headcount and compensation plans be changed in order to compete more effectively, to reach higher revenue goals or to pursue other types of business?
